The CAMRA podcast returns with a special Christmas episode

The popular CAMRA podcast Pubs. Pints. People. has returned to the airwaves for a new season of beer, cider, pub and club news and interviews.

The first episode of season six ‘tis the season… for food & drink is now available on Apple Podcast, Spotify or wherever you listen to your podcast. It features fantastic interviews on the best beer and food pairings the season has to offer.

Hosts sit down with Christian Gott, a full-time chef working for Liberation Brewery, Adam Dulye, Executive Chef of the Brewers Association in America, Alex Spencer, Head Brewer of DC Brau Brewing Co in America and Lotte Peplow, Brewers Association American Craft Beer Ambassador for Europe to hear their expert beer recommendations to pair with Christmas dinner.

Lotte Peplow, Brewers Association American Craft Beer Ambassador for Europe said: “It’s a huge honour to be invited to join the hosts to talk about beer and food in the run-up to Christmas. Beer has such a wonderfully wide spectrum of flavours it’s the perfect match for the various components of a Christmas feast. There’s no one style that fits all.

“Christmas Day is the time to enjoy lighter styles first then work your way up to the heavy-hitting bourbon barrel-aged imperial stouts and barley wines later. Christmas pudding, Christmas cake and mince pies are the perfect pairing partner for dark and decadent beers rich in dried fruit, chocolate and coffee flavours. I hope the contents of this podcast help inspire your Christmas menu planning and happy listening!”

Producer Katie Wiles said: “Join the team in hearing from experts in the field about how to play with temperatures and flavours for your starter, main and dessert this Christmas. The rules of pairings have changed, and it’s fantastic to get some brilliant ideas on how to match beer and cider with food this season.”

The episode also features CAMRA’s Bedford branch, shining a spotlight on local campaigns on the ground and an interview with James Hunter, Head Brewer at the new state-of-the-art Brewpoint Brewery in Bedford.

A new episode will be released on the first Wednesday of each month covering various topics across the bee, cider, pub and club industry. To find out more and tune in, visit: https://shows.acast.com/pubspintspeople
