The UK’s definitive guidebook to good pubs that serve real ale across the UK. Refreshed and updated for its 54th edition, it is fully revised and features over 4,500 recommended pubs across the United Kingdom that serve the best real ale and the facilities available at each venue. The guide also features a unique brewery listing covering 1,700 breweries and 5,000 beers plus information about onsite brewery taprooms to help you track down the best possible pints right at the source. The Good Beer Guide is completely independent, with listings based entirely on evaluation by CAMRA members. This year’s foreword is written by Sir Ian Rankin. He, and his fictional detective Rebus, both frequent The Oxford Bar, in Edinburgh which features on the cover of this year’s guide.
The guide is currently available at the special pre-order price of ÂŁ13.99 for members or ÂŁ15.99 for non-members. Joining the Privilege Club opens up further offers on exclusive merch from our store. Please go to your member profile to subscribe.

CAMRA has over 140,000 members across more than 200 branches around the UK. It’s our branches that select the pubs and clubs that make it into the Guide, using democratic methods and with beer quality as the main criteria. All members are invited to rate beers served to them through our National Beer Scoring System. These scores are used by branches to find pubs consistently serving the best cask beer. Not only is beer quality monitored, but our branches also factor in things that could affect standards, like the range on offer, the overall standard of the pub, and ownership or management.
While the core purpose of the Guide is mainly a way to seek out quality cask beer, it’s also great for finding pubs to suit any occasion, considering history, architecture, food, family, disabled facilities, gardens and special events such as beer festivals.
The Good Beer Guide also includes a comprehensive listing of 1,700 breweries currently operating in the UK – not just those making cask beers. Many breweries have onsite taprooms where you can go and sample their beers, which are indicated in the book.
