CAMRA gears up for Community Pubs Month
With April upon us, pub-goers across the country are gearing up to celebrate Community Pubs Month, a four week campaign run by the Campaign for Real Ale to highlight the role of community pubs and the many ways that they serve their community.
CAMRA is encouraging the public to support community pubs by visiting their local and taking part in quiz nights, comedy gigs and other fun community events over the course of the month.
Paul Ainsworth, Chair of CAMRA’s Pubs Campaigns Committee says: “Pubs play a hugely important role, improving our personal lives and enhancing our local communities. Yet CAMRA research shows that 18 pubs are still closing their doors every week.
“More publicans are working hard to stay open by diversifying their pubs to better fit their local need, so we are calling on the public to spend some time with others down their local enjoying everything the great British pub has to offer.”
