Beer-lovers rejoice as latest Peak District Pub Walks is released
Beer-lovers and keen hikers have reason to celebrate, as the latest edition of CAMRA’s Peak District Pub Walks hits the shelves on 13 July 2018.
A pocket-sized, travellers’ guide to some of the best pubs and walking routes in the Peak District, Peak District Pub Walks (3rd edition) not only explores the national park’s wonderfully diverse landscape, from atmospheric gritstone moorland to deep limestone gorges, it also uncovers some of the region’s fascinating industrial and transport heritage.
Completely updated to reflect changes to the Peak District pub and beer scene since the last edition, it includes new or altered routes and many new pubs. Easy-to-use Ordnance Survey maps and concise route information make it the perfect guide for the casual walker as well as the more serious hiker.
Peak District Pub Walks is also celebrating its tenth anniversary since the first edition was published in 2008. In that time there have been significant changes to the local pub, beer and brewery scene, reflected in the completely rewritten 3rd edition.
Author Bob Steel says: “The Peak District is an area of outstanding natural beauty as well as a home to many fantastic pubs. There is nothing like stopping for a refreshing pint after a good hike. I am delighted to bring these pubs and walking routes together in the hope that it helps many people discover new hidden gems in the Peaks and rediscover some old favourites!”
The third edition of CAMRA’s Peak District Pub Walks will be released on 13 July and is available for pre-order from the CAMRA shop: https://shop.camra.org.uk/books/peak-district-pub-walks-new-3rd-edition.html
It will be launched at an author event at the Boat in Cromford on Sat 14th July at 12 pm. Locals will participate in one of the walks featured in the book. Please get in touch if you would like to attend.
