A taste of Crumbs Brewing at the Red (On)Lion

Morgan Arnell, owner of Crumbs Brewing in Reigate, will be leading a unique tasting of three of their beers, taking place on CAMRA’s virtual pub the Red (On)Lion at 6pm on 14 July.

Crumbs Brewing brew all their beers using left over bread from local bakery Chalk Hills, join the tasting to explore their core range and learn how they go about brewing with bread.

Owner and ‘Chief Crumber’ Morgan Arnell explained: “I’ve lived and raised a family in Reigate for the last 12 years. I love our community and the variety of local artisan food and drink on our doorstep. I’ve always enjoyed Chalk Hills bread and it’s great that Crumbs Brewing will mean less of their delicious product will go to waste.”

The three beers being tasted in the session are:

  • Bloomin’ Amber Lager (4.8%) – brewed using Surrey Bloomer loaves. Based on a Vienna lager recipe but fermented with an ale yeast it’s a true hybrid of lager and ale.

  • Rye Ruby Ale (5%) – brewed using the complex flavours of Rye bread, our recipe folds those flavours into a dark, warming ruby ale with real richness.

  • Sourdough Pale Ale (4.2%) – brewed using, zesty Sourdough loaves. Late hops enhance the aroma but don’t overpower with bitterness. A perfect session pale ale.
