Other Activities
There will be a range of other activities taking place to help you make the most of your weekend in Sheffield.
Thursday 20th April – Meet & Greet
If you’re in Sheffield before the weekend kicks off, come to the Sheffield Tap during the afternoon and meet local CAMRA volunteers. They’ll be happy to answer questions about pubs, breweries, public transport and the Members’ Weekend. It is expected to be a brew day too so you will be able to see the brewer at work from your seat!
Friday 21st April
Meet & Greet – at the Sheffield Tap (as per above). Thirsty after a train journey? Come and meet our local team and other members before heading over to the Octagon.
5pm – Meet the Brewer (Thornbridge*) in the Members’ Bar at the Octagon
Aside from the CAMRA organised Brewery Tours, various other breweries will be hosting open days, and drop in tap sessions. Some of these require pre-booking – find out more here. Please note these are not CAMRA-run events and booking/taking part will be your own discretion.
*Check out the beer card in your Members’ Bag – for the Thornbridge competition!
Members’ Bar ‘Drop In’ Sessions
Over the weekend, CAMRA volunteers will be in the cafe area of the Members’ Bar, to advise you on specific areas of interest including:
- National Beer Scoring System (NBSS)
- IT (Branch websites/emails etc)
- CAMRA’s Keg Wall demo
In addition, if you’re a CAMRA Discourse user and want to put the faces to the names, we’ll have a table set aside where you can meet for a beer and a face-to-face chat!
