Situated in the far corner of Ripon’s Market Place, this is a Greene King pub which was renamed back to The Black Bull in September 2024 after 11 years as So!Bar and Eats. The bar room is to the right-hand side as you enter with four handpumps at the far end of the bar serving mostly Yorkshire ales. There are some high tables in this bar but mostly vertical drinking space with a number of sports screens. The room to the left-hand side of the pub has no bar but is laid out with tables and comfortable seating. Upstairs is a large games room with two pool tables and a dartboard. At the back is a large outside space with bench tables and parasols. No food in the week, but Sunday lunches are served.
