Description

An independent, family business, established in 1827 by Robert Theakston. From 1984, for 19 years the brewery was in non-family hands. Following a successful buy back in 2003, the company returned to family control, managed by Simon Theakston and his three brothers (great-great grandsons of the founder). Significant investment in the brewery since then has provided additional capacity and flexibility to meet growing demand and variety of beers brewed.
