One of the smaller Wetherspoons, renovated in 2011. This has provided a number of drinking and eating areas with low ceilings and dark wood panelling characterising the bar. The side bar has booth-like areas down one side and the slightly spooky presence of a large Unicorn (without its horn!) in Elizabethan costume as homage to Lewis Carroll's links with Ripon. Local interest pictures adorn the walls with Lewis Carroll, the Cathedral and Fountains Abbey being prominent. There is a beer garden and smoking area at the back and as it's a smaller 'Spoons the toilets are upstairs. A Wetherspoons hotel, it has 32 letting rooms.
