A double fronted Victorian building with notable stained-glass windows, the WR is thought to refer to William Richardson, a 19th-century landlord of the pub. It has been refurbished, reupholstered and re-lit in a modern style, originally two bars with a West Riding drinking lobby between them, the right-hand room is now the main bar with a pool table in the left-hand room and an adjacent seating area. Some screens remain from a previous sports bar incarnation. There are usually Yorkshire beers on the four handpulls invariably with at least one from Theakston’s, a Ripon favourite. There is a beer garden to the rear and the pub is usually referred to as the King Billy.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
