Non residents welcome
Black and white grade 1 listed Elizabethan hotel in the town centre. Rebuilt in 1585 following the great fir of Nantwich using timbers from Delamere forest. The bar area is roomy and comfortable with some exposed woodwork. There is a television at one end, showing BT Sports, but not intrusive. Beyond the bar is the Crown Bar and Grill, but light hot meals are available in the bar, The Long Gallery, upstairs is worth a look. It is one of three meeting rooms upstairs (the Crown is also a wedding venue). Small smoking/outside patio area with 2 tables and chairs in Crown Mews adjacent to pub. Now has 5 real ales. Often Spitting Feathers and Sandstone.
Historic Interest
Grade I Listed Building (1948). Long gallery upstairs is well worth a visit and, allegedly, haunted!
