Food-led pub welcoming to drinkers, with a small open plan layout of two rooms and a dining area. There is also what is claimed to be the best riverside pub garden in Yorkshire where in the summer coffee and croissants are served, along with an ice cream shack. Nearby, by the village church, is the oft photographed picturesque Marmion Tower, and outside the village is the Lightwater Valley theme park. Meals are served lunchtime and evenings most weekdays and all day at weekends. Four local real ales are served.
