Formerly the Tap & Spile, this street corner pub close to West Park Stray was completely refurbished in modern style by new operators in 2017, however the three-room layout of the old pub remains unchanged. Food is available all day, mainly in the form of hot and cold snacks rather than formal cooked meals. Takeaway bottles and cans are available from fridges in the public bar and the rear room has a selection of over 300 board games. There are four handpumps in each of the front bars with up to seven Yorkshire real ales, and one pump devoted to cider, often Westons Old Rosie. There are covered front and rear patio areas for outside drinking and smoking.
The pub was EI Group Pub of the Year 2019 and Harrogate Hospitality and Tourism Bar of the Year 2022.
