The food offering was restarted on 12 October 2024 having been suspended by the new tenants while the kitchen underwent essential maintenance and the restaurant was redecorated.
Popular Grade II-listed village inn built as two cottages in about 1550 with a steeply raked thatched roof that extends past the first-floor windows. Overlooks the cricket green in this quintessential English village much featured in Midsomer Murders and many other films.
There are separate dining and sitting areas opening off the main bar, a large patio with tables in the front and garden at the back.
The food offering is filled baguettes and homemade soup with a baguette Wed-Sat lunchtimes; street food vans are present in front of the pub Fri & Sat evenings (and occasional Thu evenings) and Sun lunchtimes.
