A Grade II listed, brick and stone built, traditional country pub, with bar and separate restaurant area.
A brick and Cotswold stone pub and restaurant dating from the 15th or 16th century. The pub reopened in November 2025, under new operators, following an extensive refurbishment of the bar and dining areas.
There are essentially three areas to the pub; a main bar area on entry that is kept for drinkers, which leads into a mixed-use area, for either drinking and/or eating, and beyond that a separate, very well-appointed, small restaurant area (with 8 or 9 tables), including an atmospheric vaulted-roof, grain store conversion. All areas are warm and inviting and have a look and feel of being both contemporary and traditionally decorated and furnished. The food menu is quite innovative, modern British style, and a step up from a classic pub menu, with ingredients sourced from well-respected local suppliers. However, it is not pretentious, nor over-priced. A roast dinner menu is offered from noon to 5pm on Sundays.
Outside there is a sun-trap courtyard area and an expansive garden area beyond that. This should prove popular with diners and drinkers alike during the warmer months.
