Whitby's latest offering for real ales is in the newly converted jet museum, and which originally was a Wesleyan chapel, bulit in 1901. A superb building, fully modernised, yet retaining most of it's original Weslyan features, including the full working organ.
What could be called another Hemsley Brewery Taproom, besdies the one in Helmsley itself, this fine Victorian building, located towards the bottom of the 199 steps, is now an other outlet for Hemsley Brewing Co., and where a selection of their beers are sold, together with several guest beers which are served on a rotating basis.
The whole set up generates a tremendoud atmosphere.
A fine meeting place to eat, drink and socialise. An interesting menu makes a change from the usual fare, while superb Sunday roasts are also served.
