This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Drouthy Duck closed in 2006 and there were moves to knock it down and replace it with flats. The application was rejected, and also on appeal.

Drouthy is usually taken to mean dry or "thirsty".

"Drouthy Summers" = dry summers.

However today it tends to mean thirsty for hard liquor!

The "Duck" appeared in 3 copies of GBG, 1986 - 1988, and is included in the H&WI listings for historical reasons.
