This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
Ord House Hotel is a 17th Century home situated in 40 acres of gardens and woodlands just outside the village of Muir of Ord, close to the Glen Ord Distillery. The hotel was originally the Laird's house of the Clan McKenzie and was sympathetically converted into a hotel in the 1970’s and retains a traditional Scottish feel. Antique furniture, real fires are laid every day and the original walls that are four feet thick! The ‘Gun Room’ Bar is named so because it once held the Mackenzie family’s weapons of choice. Johnny and Eliza Allen have been at the helm of Ord House Hotel since 1987 and have taken great care to ensure the property and its grounds reflect the original classic style. Locally sourced ingredients are used in the award-winning restaurant, including lamb from the sheep grazed on their own land. As much seasonal produce as possible comes from the onsite vegetable garden and all herbs used are fresh from their herb garden.
