Demolished in 1931 when the main road through the village was widened, TFM Farm & Country Store is now on the site.

Known licensees -

1834 Thomas Hammersley; 1841 Leonard Heywood; 1842 to 1892 William Webb sen & jun (& butchers); 1892 to 1897 Arthur Raybould; 1897 and 1898 William G Silvester;1898 Edward Greenwood; 1899 to 1900 David Moore. 1900 & 1901 William Crockford; 1901 Joseph Park; 1902 to 1904 William Henry Hadley; 1905 H Hadley; 1905 to 1931 Alfred Dawes.

1n 1754 John Tomlinson is recorded as the owner of the property, he is also associated with the Old Swan and the King’s Head. The Tomlinson family were possibly maltsters & brewers. In 1834 & 1835 a William Webb is recorded as a beer retailer in High Street, was this at the Crown or another property. His son, also William Webb, took over the Crown in 1842.
