The Boat Inn, built at the same time as the Staffs and Worcester Canal in 1779 and is one of the old ‘Gateways’ to the Village, for many years it was the first or last stopping point, as locals and visitors travelled along the Cannock Road. A pub restaurant, comfortable modern bar to the left as you enter, restaurant area to the right. Serve traditional British meals, a bottomless brunch (Wed-Sat 12-4) Sunday lunch afternoon teas and Sunday lunch. Number of beers may vary.

In 1837 when the pub was being sold on behalf of Joseph Dugmore the property was described as including a hrewhouse
