Historic Interest
At one time know as the Crown and the Crown Vaults. Dating from at least 1850. A Bent’s brewery pub, bought by bass and then leased to Higsons in 1920. In 1980 selling Higson Bitter. Described in 1990 as a small comfortable pub in a good drinking area and by this time it was selling Stones Bitter by handpump. Closed 2014 and converted to living accommodation. The old photo was taken in 1986 when the pub served Higsons beers.
