Historic Interest

Dating from at least 1860 as the Mersey Vaults. Bought by Peter Walker in 1888 and selling Tetley beer into the 1980s. The very old photo shows the pub as the Mersey Vaults. Renamed the Commodore in late 1980s when it became a free house. Described in 1990 as a pleasant bar with a maritime theme, darts and pool plus a small lounge and an upstairs room for functions. Closed and demolished.
