A large stone-built village pub, just along the street from the main entrance to the historic Bradgate Park. Refurbished in 2025, the interior has been entirely modernised, and there is a mix of traditional tables, comfy chairs, and dining areas. At the back is a large tree-lined garden with picnic tables and kids' play equipment, and a patio on several levels. In addition to the regular menu, snacks and pizzas are available most times.
Historic Interest
The pub was the Bradgate Hotel until the early 1980s. Bradgate Park is a former medieval deer park which in 1928 was bought by local philanthropist Charles Bennion and given, as a plaque in the park describes, "to be preserved in its a natural state for the quiet enjoyment of the people of Leicestershire". Bradgate House, the ruins of which are within the Park, was the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey. Newtown Linford is a popular tourist destination, attracting walkers and cyclists in particular.
