In keeping with the original buildings the extended parts are aesthetically pleasingly constructed of local materials in the form of Mountsorrel granite walls and Swithland slate roofs. The main bar is a very large room off of which are some small dining rooms situated in the original farmhouse therefore unsurprisingly oozing with rural ambiance. A function room called the Charnwood suite is a set in what was originally the cow shed and the beer cellar in the former stables. Real cider is occasionally available.
Historic Interest
Built as a farmhouse and outbuildings around 1672 and extensively renovated and extended when redeveloped, in more recent times, to become a hotel.
