The interior is all modernised. The front door with substantial bay windows each side leads into the public bar. The larger rear rooms are entirely set out as a restaurant. The walls display illustrations of carpenters' tools. Left-front is a small patio area, and there is a larger separate garden area at the back.
Historic Interest
Formerly owned by the All Saints Brewery at 103 High Cross Street, Leicester; it came into the ownership of Ind Coope, Burton-upon-Trent in 1929. Situated just within the Countesthorpe Conservation Area and named Axe & Square by an erstwhile landlord who had previously worked as a carpenter.
