This Pub is Closed Long Term

Named after the Barons Herbert of Chirbury, and situated within the conservation area at the centre of the village, this is a rather imposing Georgian pub. When it was first built it was called the Cross. Nowadays it is a very welcoming village local with a nicely old fashioned feel. The single bar is tiled, the furniture is cottage style, and there's a comforting wood burner. Also a pool room and a large dining room. Unusually for a village pub, the food menu has quite a number of vegetarian dishes. Chirbury is only a couple of miles away from Offa's Dyke, which in these parts often marks the Welsh border. Has had a 250k refurb. Still closed, but publicans are being sought.
