This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

A Michelin star restaurant in a historical Grade II listed timber clad building situated in the centre of Montgomery. Formerly a coaching inn and until about 2014 an old fashioned boozer, the Checkers has been transformed into a high class restaurant with a lounge bar and gained a reputation for fine dining with patrons coming from far and wide. It should be noted that drink prices are a lot higher than the rest of the area. Casual drinkers are no longer welcomed as of early 2017.

2022 opening times are not precisely given but open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday and lunch Thursday to Saturday. Check website for updates.

16th to 17th century, later re-fronted and further alterations. Grade II Listed. Historic Wales reference 7935
