Reopened on 2 February 2023 after being temporarily closed for refurbishment from 2 January 2023. The opening and meal times have been updated as per their website on 2 February 2023.
Reopened on 2 October 2020 having been closed in Sept 2019 after being purchased by Hook Norton from Greene King, to become Hook Norton's most southerly pub. There was a major refurbishment to include accommodation (six en-suite bedrooms).
The pub is a characterful 17th-century Grade II-listed, timber-framed former coaching inn, with a welcoming bar area on entrance from the rear courtyard, flanked by two dining areas each side. There is a refurbished pleasant courtyard and garden to the rear.
Alcoholic drinks served from 11am. With five handpumps, the pub serves four regular Hook Norton ales alongside a varying ale from Hook Norton's hand-crafted ale range. The food menu comprises modern British classics and is proving very popular with customers. Takeaway meals are available.
