17th-century weatherboarded pub with three cosy drinking areas all with real fires. Extensive garden. Many special events including Burns’ night, and monthly comedy events. A major comedy event (with stars from the Edinburgh Fringe) is held on the last Sat in July. All food is prepared and cooked in house. There is also a range of over 50 Belgian beers in bottle and some on draught. Family room and good accomodation available.
It is here that you will frequently find beers including something dark, unavailable elsewhere in the county. Note the pub sign procaiming "prince of ales" Rob is celebrating his 31st year running The Prince of Wales, and was the runner up in Maldon & Dengie pub of the year.
