Dining pub
A large restaurant pub which reopened in late March 2016 following a major refurbishment, and is now operated by the Whiting & Hammond Chain. The pub is located on the main A21 within easy reach of Junction 4 on the M25, and is convenient for visitors to High Elms Country Park.
The pub is now generally brighter and seems more spacious. The venue has a changing food range, with menus printed daily. Despite the food emphasis, casual drinkers are welcomed. The pub remains child-friendly with various play equipment in the extensive garden.

Historic Interest
Built in 1927 as a roadhouse pub after being relocated to make way for the Farnborough bypass which opened that same year. Prior to its demolition at the same time, the original public house faced onto the village green with its pond, when the old village was called Greenstreet Green. Situated at the bottom of Old Hill, this was on the original coach road from Farnborough until replaced by a more direct road via Farnborough Hill in the 1790s. First recorded in 1672, this served as an ale house for carriers and by 1787 it was established with its current name. The pub would have provided a change of horses for carriages in the 18th C, with horses rested before or after the steep hill to Farnborough. Later owned by the nearby Oak Brewery (set up in 1836), the pub sold their Fox & Sons Ales until 1909, whereupon the premises had to be sold at auction due to financial problems with the brewery. In the early 20th C, this was a popular meeting point for cyclists as well as the local hunt.
