Old coaching inn that was extensively refurbished and re-opened in Oct 2018 as an upmarket gastro-style bar. The layout is open-plan but there are effectively two distinct areas. The main lounge containing the bar is located to the right of the entrance door whilst a smaller room is located to the left. Although the bar focuses on food, it is also suitable for those just wanting a drink. There are six handpulls, with two regular reale ales plus guests, but the real ales may be duplicated on these. More guest real ale are often available around the Christmas period. Bottled foreign beers, wines and an extensive coffee choice are also offered. The menu changes to make the best use of seasonal items. Locally sourced products are utilised wherever possible. It can be busy at weekends, especially at Sunday lunchtimes. Five individual apartments are let on a nightly or weekly basis and can be booked via AirBnB. Dogs and walkers are welcome to use the room to the left of the entrance.
