Formerly under the ownership of a large pubco and then put up for sale, the Malt Shovel was saved for the local community and re-opened as a free house on 12 Aug 2021. It was extensively refurbished inside and out. The interior comprises an L-shaped, open-plan room that contains the bar and has a modern-classic, clean, light appearance. The four hand-pulls serve a varying range of real ales. There is a beer garden to the rear and more outside seating in the car park area to the front. A ramp at the back for disabled access leads from the garden. There is a poker night on Mondays and a quiz on Thursday nights. Walkers and dogs are welcome. Opens at 12pm on bank holiday Mondays.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
