Blue Bell, Pentreheyling

Edge of the village traditional pub just a few hundred yards from the Welsh border, which has been in the same family ownership since 1926. The public bar was refitted in 1949 and nothing has changed since. The door to the public bar is the original front door - the front lobby was added in 1969. A former stable to the left was converted into the lounge and has a 1950's over-lapped bar counter with a Formica top, glass shelves on wooden back bar, leatherette bench seating, chairs and Formica top tables - all dating from the 1950's, as do the toilets. Opening either the door to the bar or the lounge sounds a bell to announce your arrival. On the other side of the landlady's private hallway there is a dining room on the right, which is used for meetings or private parties. Note the disused petrol pumps outside this brick and part-rendered pub. Although no real ale is served, bottled ale is available in the form of Butty Bach and HPA from Wye Valley.

The Landlady passed away in 2020 and the pub closed.

In late 2021 the Branch was informed that the pub has been purchsed by a local business and the long term plan is to re-open it as a pub.
