A report in the Bury & Norfolk Post & Suffolk Herald** on 22 Apr in 1884 states that : Larceny: Annie Wand, domestic servant of Borough Green was found guilty of stealing a silk handkerchief, value 5s, the property of James BARTHOLOMEW, Innkeeper, White Lion Inn, Newmarket. - Fined ÂŁ1, paid by her father.
