Located by the side of the River Skell with a fine view of Ripon Cathedral and the river from its large windows and riverside terrace, this is Ripon's only riverside pub, in fact so close to the river that it has been flooded in the past. An emphasis on affordable home-cooked traditional English pub food including a Sunday carvery, means it tends to get busy at times. The main area is laid out for dining, while there is a small drinking area near to the bar, and a snug on the left-hand side as you enter. Four Yorkshire ales are served, pie and pint night is Thursdays, there is a quiz on Sundays and a popular vinyl night is held once a month with dancing to Northern Soul, Motown, Funk and RnB records.
NB. Significant markup on half pints. Note that this pub does not display prices of its cask ales.
