Across the river bridge from the town center, this traditional 16th-century coaching inn is worth the small effort needed to find it. It has beamed ceilings, wooden floor and fine leaded front windows. Split on three levels, the lower end is the main bar with two log burners, adjoining is a restaurant leading to a sun-trap sun deck and courtyard seating. There are two permanent ales and one or two guest ales depending on season, sourced nationally. This is probably the best pub in town, especially for real ale drinkers. Opening hours may vary out of season.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
