Historic Interest

Built in 1850 an Argyle Brewery pub, transferred to Birkenhead Brewery, also known as the Royal Hotel and for a while, Mason's Royal Ferry Hotel. This may be the same Royal Hotel listed in Bagshaw's Directory in 1850. A free house serving Wilsons beers in the 1980s. Changed name to the Chelsea Reach in 1971, then to Club Royale in 1996. Closed in 2010 and converted to flats.
