Historic Interest

Originally built as a private house in 1820 had become the New Brighton Hotel by 1839 and listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. Acquired by West Cheshire Brewery in 1922, became the Neptune Hotel in 1954, changed name to Lacey's by 1995 then Peggy Gadfly's by 2000. Selling Whitbread beers in the 1980s. Cannabis factory found upstairs in 2012 and closed and boarded up by 2014. Reopened in 2015 as Stag Bar & Restaurant before changing name back to the New Brighton Hotel.
