Mexican themed Cafe, Bar & Restaurant.

Situated in the middle of town the Prickly Pear is a food orientated 2022 re-imagining of the original Grade II listed Bruton Castle pub.

The Prickly Pear closed again in Sep 2023 due to major structural problems with the building and reopened in Jan 2026 following an extensive and sumptuous refurbishment.

Included in The Times “45 best summer pubs for summer” in July 2023

No cask available on a Sep 2026 visit due to "lack of demand" though both handpumps still in place. Unclear if cask will return…
