The picturesque Millers Cottage traded as a pub between 1842 and 2018, initially as a beer house . It has since been converted into a private house. This was a sad loss and came as a surprise to the local community, as the pub was situated in a conservation area. As the name suggests, prior to opening as a pub the premises had provided accommodation for the local miller. Several windmills had existed close by at various times over the years.
The pub had operated as part of the tied estate of local brewers Russell's during the early 20th century, passing to Truman's on takeover in 1930.
