This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

The club is located in the former grounds of Maxstoke Castle. The privately owned castle is separate to the golf club but can be seen out on the course.

Founded in 1898 as Ward End Golf Club. As Birmingham expanded the club moved near to the race course at Bromford Bridge and was renamed Castle Bromwich Golf Club. With the further expansion of Birmingham the club moved to it's present location after World War 2.

The club is a members club and is affiliated to the Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs.
