Family-owned rural pub which has championed real ale for over four decades. The spacious but intimate interior features a stone bar, inglenook fireplaces and beams decorated with dustily ancient beer mats. No music interrupts the hum of conversation. There is always one real cider, and up to four in summer. Children are welcome on the beer terrace, in the conservatory, and on the extensive meadow-style garden. Home-cooked lunches are served (no food Sun). Homemade sausage rolls, pork pie, cheese & onion rolls & various cheeses available on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
