This double-fronted limestone pub was built in around 1815 and still retains some old thatched outbuildings which were most likely barns or stables. For a long time it belonged to Halls Oxford Brewery but was put up for sale by Punch Taverns in 2011 and was bought by a near neighbour who wanted to make sure it stayed a pub. The long standing two-room layout has been altered to make one large room.
A free house that has a good range of mostly local rotating ales. The kitchen has been re-fitted and food had a "soft" launch at the start of November 2024.
