There has been an inn on the site since early C18, originally the Anchor Beer House. Next to the Oxford Canal (built 1790s) with a large canalside garden. Formerly the Wise Alderman after Frank Wise, a parish councillor, the pub was renamed in 2009. Before that the Railway Hotel when Kidlington had a station but this was removed in the early 60s. Now offers accommodation and has a restaurant. Usually has a third beer on in the summer, often Hooky.
