This Pub is Permanently Closed

This struggling pub closed again in 2014 after being sold by GK. There were two rooms, a basic bar with pool table and darts, and a bigger lounge. The Revd Jack Russell apparently acquired the original of the terrier breed he named from a Marston milkman while he was at Exeter College in the early 19th century. Went on fire Nov 2016. Planning application July 2015 for demolition and erection 16 flats initially turned down but granted March 2017. Demolished.
