The pub closed in 2020 and fell into disrepair before being purchased by the current owners in 2023.
The pub re-opened on 18th July 2024 after being refurbished, it is currently only open for limited days whilst the work continues.
Built in 1609 this building obtained its first license as an ale and cider establishment in 1793. It was named the Honest Miller in 1804.
In Saxon times when millers regularly short changed the Romans and they were punished by having their ears cut off and hence the name Honest Miller to claim that they did not short change the Romans.
