In 1912 this building replaced the original inn which was a low thatched structure dating back to at least the 1720s. Throughout its existence the pub was known as The Shoulder of Mutton until 1988 when it was renamed The Dunton Bassett Arms. Towards the rear of the pub is a Chinese restaurant which also has a take away menu available.
