Steve and Lynn, who took over in October 2025. have breathed new life into the Crown. Open daily from 1pm (earlier at weekends), there is now somewhere you can rely on to be open in Horton. Conveniently situated for both the Three Peaks and Pennine Way, this bright and welcoming small multi-roomed inn has accommodation available. Weekdays (home-made) soup and a sandwich is available during the day, with main meals starting around 5. Full meals are available all day Saturday and Sunday, booking advisable at weekends. Fires are usually lit in both rooms making the pub warm and cosy. Take care if on foot - whichever direction you come from, there is no pavement on the bridge. Officially the nearest bus stops are at the station and near the former Pen-y-Ghent Cafe, but drivers may stop anywhere that is safe - you do need to go to the other side of one of the bridges for a safe pick-up.
