After a period of closure, this reopened in early September 2024.
Situated near the top of the High Street, the interior is long and fairly narrow with comfortable seating. TVs show sport and art the rear is a large patio area.
Ossett White Rat is the regular beer, a guest beer may follow. Is open for breakfast from 7.30am. A licence to serve alcohol from 9am has been applied for. Live music and discos are a regular feature.
Is run by the same people who have the Old Eagles at the other end of town.
Historic Interest
In 2015 the pub's owners were the inaugural winners of the Shrewsbury & West Shropshire 'Bill Bainbridge' Trophy, a new local award for saving or resurrecting a Real Ale facility. This recognized their work in restoring the Cock & Greyhound.
