The Clarendon had establishing itself as the music venue on the quay, offering a diverse and eclectic range of music from Irish folk sessions to local rock and metal bands. Though no real ale it sold Okell's bottles which was a reasonable alternative. The building was demolished and a new venue, the Barbary Coast, was built in its place, leased but not run by Heron & Brearley.
